Test Engineer

To develop manufacturing test processes across multiple leading edge products.
During the new product development lifecycle, actively participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturing test guidelines are followed, define and develop the robust test processes necessary to ensure a fully testable product, and provide the training required for both in-house and supplier personnel to ensure a successful product launch.
Once into full scale production, work closely with product, quality, and design engineering on a continuous basis to analyze in-process test data and field failure data to eliminate any design and test process weaknesses.
Review hardware/software/firmware functional design specifications and other relevant documentation to extract test requirements for various products.
Work with the product team and the NPI Program Launch Manager to provide key deliverables that support the introduction of new product designs into a high volume environment including DFT reviews, test plan and test procedure development, delivery of capital equipment and setup of the test process, and training.
Drive strategic test process improvements to improve product cycle-time and increase product yield. Actively drive products to a 100% outsourced model. Work closely with Quality, Product, and Design Engineering to introduce design, component, and process improvements to increase overall product reliability.
Work with design engineering to introduce new diagnostics to manufacturing after performing due diligence to #OOPS#ess the impact on operations. Coordinate the introduction of new test scripts at the supplier. Participate in weekly supplier conference call to discuss technical issues/resolution. Monitor WIP status at the supplier to note any trends such as failure types, debug pile increase, etc. Work with the CM and Engineering Technician to develop additional training as required.
Monitor capital equipment at the supplier on an on-going basis. Implement preventative maintenance plans for all capital equipment to ensure capacity supports forecast.
As required, support ECN changes to products by coordinating ICT fixture and /or program changes with Tier I suppliers to meet schedule. If utilized in the test process, coordinate or develop boundary scan program changes as required.
Competence
BS in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of test engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Design engineering or manufacturing experience a plus.
Ability to test and debug PCB #OOPS#emblies to the component level. Good interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop UNIX and Perl scripts. Ability to develop C/C++ programs. Working knowledge of ICT, JTAG/boundary scan development. Networking experience desirable.
